Kris and Luhan's mediation with SM Entertainment is postponed; will this legal battle ever end?

It looks like KrisLuhan, and SM Entertainment's legal stalemate will be extended. On February 26, it was announced that Kris and Luhan's mediation with SM Entertainment that was originally scheduled for February 27 is now postponed to March 27.

The mediation was set to be held in the Seoul Central District Court. It would be Kris's fifth and Luhan's fourth mediation, or formal attempt, to reach a compromise with SM. During their last mediation on February 6, the court was unable to make the two sides come to any sort of agreement.

The postponement could possibly be due to SM's lawsuit, which SM filed earlier this month against Kris and Luhan for promoting independently in China while still under their contract. SM has also filed an additional lawsuit against Luhan and affiliated move production companies for similar reasons. Kris and Luhan's side has since responded that SM was attempting to paint the two celebrities in a bad light and blocking their activities, similar to how they blocked JYJ from broadcast years ago. Kris and Luhan's side also questioned SM's sincerity in wishing to negotiate via court-regulated mediations.

Kris and Luhan have been in a lawsuit against SM to nullify their contracts ever since May and October respectively. At this rate, who knows how and when this legal battle will end.

American rapper OG Maco accuses Korean rapper Keith Ape of cultural appropriation by copying 'U Guessed It'

Although Korean rapper Keith Ape is gradually being recognized in the American hip hop scene for his latest collaboration "It G Ma (Forget It)," featuring fellow Asian rappersJayAllday, lootaOkasian, and Kohh, American rapper OG Maco has a bone to pick with Ape's success.

On February 4, Maco accused Ape and his collaborators for copying his track "U Guessed It" as well as using exaggerated racial stereotypes.

Maco's main beef with Ape is the use of stereotypes, such as grills and lean cups, or styrofoam cups filled with cough syrup ("purple drank"). He is accusing Ape of cultural appropriation, or adopting elements of black culture and using them in a racist manner. Maco has also accused other artists of the same in the past, such as IggyMacklemore, and Miley Cyrus.

Maco also seems to credit himself for "It G Ma"s current popularity in the U.S.

Yoo Hae Jin fails at bonding with Son Ho Joon after asking about his relationship status

On the February 6th airing of tvN's 'Three Meals A Day', actor Yoo Hae Jin desperately failed at bonding with Son Ho Joon after scratching at a still fresh wound when asking Son Ho Joon about his current relationship status.

While preparing their meals, actor Yoo Hae Jin exchanged small talk with Son Ho Joon in order to bond and break the awkward tension between the two.

Yoo Hae Jin asked Son Ho Joon how he spent his Christmas, and he answered, "I was home alone." Yoo Hae Jin then quietly asked, "So you don't have a girlfriend?" Son Ho Joon then revealed he broke up with his last girlfriend not too long ago to which Yoo Hae Jin replied, saying, "I guess the wounds are still fresh."

Meanwhile, the actor previously revealed on MBC FM's 'Shin Dong's ShimShimTapa' that he broke up with his girlfriend while filming for the popular drama 'Reply 1994' and even revealed that they were only dating for three months. The reason for his breakup was stated as differences in personality and because his lady friend did not understand the lifestyle that he had as a celebrity.

'Laws of the Jungle' producer shows affection towards Son Ho Joon despite actor's double booking with 'Three Meals a Day'

Recently, a slight controversy arose after actor Son Ho Joon, who was already set to appear in variety show 'Laws of the Jungle', took suddenly over Jang Geun Suk's place in 'Three Meals a Day'. Since the two shows air in the same time slot as competing programs from different broadcast stations, the 'Laws of the Jungle' team previously lamented at the situation as this means ratings will be split between the two shows as fans pick and choose which show they want to watch to see the actor. For this reason, double booking by a celebrity is often frowned upon by broadcast stations and shows, as it is considered to be bad business ethics.

However, Producer Lee Young Joon of 'Laws of the Jungle' proved there were no hard feelings with the actor during the press conference for the show on January 27 at the SBSbuilding.  He said, "Son Ho Joon did nothing wrong.  The perfect expression to use is that this is unfortunate.  Ho Joon was Little Kim Byung Man as he lived in the jungle so well.  He survived well and he took such good care of his younger [castmate], Baro. I didn't expect this from him since he often showcased his slightly clueless and foolish side on 'Youth Over Flowers'. However, he unexpectedly did so well that I was completely surprised.

I even personally sent Son Ho Joon a message saying that he diligently did so well for which I am grateful.  Regardless of whether it's right or wrong in business ethics, I just find it unfortunate for Son Ho Joon [about this situation]."

The first episode of this edition of 'Laws of the Jungle' will be on January 30.

Lee Joon is busy, busy, busy as an actor as he may take part in yet another drama!

A rep from SBS disclosed to Newsen on January 2 that, while nothing has been confirmed, Lee Joon was up for talks to act in new Monday-Tuesday drama, 'I Heard a Rumor.'

The rep stated, "It's true that we offered Lee Joon a role in 'I Heard a Rumor.'  However, he is not yet confirmed.  Currently, Lee Joon is not signed under an agency, so he plans to give us a definite answer after he finds an agency."

The drama is a comedy created by writer Jung Sung Joo and producer Ahn Pan Suk of 'Love Affair.'  Actress Yoo Ho Jung has so far been confirmed to play female lead, Choi Yeon Hee.  Lee Joon was revealed to have been given the part of Choi Yeon Hee's son within the drama.

Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung to spend New Year's Day in the States

Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung will spend New Year's Day in the United States with no date set for their return to South Korea.

Lee Byung Hun's agency BH Entertainment stated, "Since his domestic schedule for the month of January has not been confirmed yet, he will spend New Year's Day in the States." Lee Min Jung's agency MS Team Entertainment also stated, "Lee Min Jung is currently in the States... She has not decided on her return date yet, and no domestic schedules for the month of January have been arranged."

The actor previously departed for LA for a business trip earlier this month with wife Lee Min Jung in accompaniment, staying out of the spotlight during his ongoing blackmail case.

In related news, prosecution has requested a three-year sentence against GLAM'sDahee and model Lee Ji Yeon.

Girls' Generation's stylist suspected of copying outfit from 'Dolce&Gabbana's Spring 2015 collection

It was recently revealed that the gorgeous red and white outfit that Girls' Generation wore at 'KBS Music Festival' was similar to an outfit that was introduced by 'Dolce&Gabbana' for their Spring 2015 collection.

On December 29, one fan asked the idol group's stylist through Twitter, "Is the Girls' Generation outfit at 'KBS Music Festival' copied from 'Dolce&Gabbana'? Or is it an homage?

The stylist replied, "It is an homage. How do you plagiarize something that you've never seen... I really liked the way [the outfit] looked and thought that it would be really pretty. So we went with the concept, adding the hair and red-lip... If it is so similar that it could be called a copy, then it would be a compliment to our team, which manually stitched [the outfit] all night, to say that the outfits are of the same quality as a brand name's.Until the day that 'Dolce&Gabbana' sponsors outfits like they do for pop stars~~

The stylist's name and Twitter account has not been revealed.

The outfit that Girls' Generation members wore at '2014 KBS Music Festival' was a simple over-sized white shirt paired with high-waisted red shorts embroidered with elegant beads. The outfit that was introduced by 'Dolce&Gabbana' for their Spring 2015 collection was styled similarly with the white shirt and embroidered high-waisted shorts. The only difference seems to be the black shirt worn underneath.

Meanwhile, Seo Soo Kyung, who has worked as a Girls' Generation stylist for about 11 years now, uploaded an email sent to Tiffany from 'Dolce&Gabbana' co-founders Domenicoand Stefano on December 10.

The email stated, "To Tiffany, we saw that you had worn a 'Dolce&Gabbana' dress at the '2014 MAMA.' You really looked great in it! Your wearing our dress was very significant to us, and it also gave us some inspiration. From Domenico and Stefano.

Netizens pointed out that the email stated above indicated that the stylists had been in contact with the brand prior to '2014 KBS Music Festival.'

The response from netizens are rather negative as they left comments saying, "Is it just okay to plagiarize once you use the word homage?" "She basically plagiarized but said that she didn't. That's absurd," and "She answered so confidently."

Netizens speculate that M.I.B's SIMS is jumping into the diss battle against Bobby

A post from M.I.B's SIMS from a few days ago is starting to garner attention for the possibility of being a diss geared towards iKON's Bobby, who recently became a hot topic for possibly writing diss lyrics targeting other idols, such as VIXX's Ravi.

Since then, Ravi has seemingly fired back with his own diss rap, after which SIMS has apparently joined the battle by posting a new track entitled "You."

The lyrics include, "You can't even keep the beat, so how dare you make fun? / I'm allergic to bastards that blindly talk bad about only idols / It's true there are kids who are bad at it and even if they do it their whole lives, they can't beat me."  Netizens are wondering if this is targeting Bobby.

More recently, he tweeted, "I empathized with what Bobby said, so I borrowed and used his expressions."

Rapper San E apologizes via lengthy post on Facebook for his behavior

In response to a recent online post criticizing his and his manager's ill-mannered behavior, rapper San E recently posted a lengthy apology letter via Facebook in hope of defusing the rumors.

In the response, San E continued to apologize for all the misunderstandings that arose at the festival and for making his fans wait for his performance. However, the rapper also refuted the claims that the music director had written regarding his manners.

The rapper wrote, "This is the first time something like this happened and I'm not very good with my words.... The things I write below are the truth that I remember and I will only speak the truth. If you read until the end, thank you."

San E continued, "I want to start off by apologizing to the audience who were waiting out in the cold. According to my agency (Brand New Music), they had already informed the reps of Owl Festival that because of a performance before, I would be able to arrive by 12 AM. I was told [by my agency] that this would be okay. And to confirm, my agency reminded them again two days prior [to the festival date] that I would be arriving by 12 AM and asked if there were any issues with it. After calculating the distance and the speed limit, we told the festival reps beforehand that it would be impossible to arrive before 12 AM. The festival reps confirmed and said they will run the event so that there would be no gap until [my] performance.

"In their second written post, it said that Brand New Music had told [the festival reps] on the day of the festival that we would be able to arrive by 11:05 PM. But even when I thought about it, 11:05 PM seemed impossible. It wasn't even 11:10 or 11:15. To think that the agency had irrationally cut down one hour [of traveling time]......ㅠㅠ I called my agency multiple times to see if there had been any miscommunication. My agency told me that they had informed the festival that it would be impossible to arrive at that time.

In addition to refuting the claims that stated that the rapper had been late without notice, San E revealed that he was unaware that there were fans waiting just for his performance and that the festival had come to a temporary halt.

He said, "I deeply regret that I wasn't able to perform my whole set for those who just wanted to enjoy the performance regardless of the situation and had to wait. If I had known that there were so many people waiting just for me, I would have canceled the DJ set and would have gone on stage with MR. No matter how many times I think about it, if I knew [how people were waiting], with my personality, I would have just gone up.

As a professional rapper and a performer, San E stated that he takes his performances very seriously and had he known about the situation, he would have abandoned his planned DJ set.  He continued, "I'm sure everyone would be the same, but I also take the stage seriously every time I perform. There was not one performance I did half-heartedly, so I'm very sensitive before my performances and only want the best from the team that I perform with.

In addition, San E wrote regretfully, "I remember very clearly, I was in a very good mood because of the responsive crowd in Gumi. And when I arrived [at the festival], I signed autographs and took pictures with the people inside just like any other time. I read [on the post] that I was screaming and cursing... but from what I remember exactly, other than the normal greeting words, I did not communicate with any of the staff members. I also read that I had my earphones in and was ignoring the staff... The performance and the crowd are the most important so once I arrive and have done my initial greeting, I listen to my music and focus on warming up. And when everything is done, I finish up giving autographs and take pictures with the people. So how can you say I was ignoring..."

San E continued and revealed that he was only informed about the situation by his manager before he went up on stage and because he felt so bad for the audience who were waiting, he performed his best and even threw the jacket he was wearing into the crowd.

He continued, "In the midst of my performance someone sent in a report and the police came and stopped the performance. I was also bewildered [when this happened] and when I was getting into the car, I asked, 'What is going on?' This was the first time something like this has ever happened. I was angry and firmly told the agency that if they were going to have the performance end like this, then they might as well not have scheduled it."

The rapper then addressed the writer personally and said, "When I read the post, it seemed like rather than communicating with me, the person had gotten mad after having friction with my manager and the DJ. First and foremost, there was a problem and if you had gotten angry because of what happened, I apologize. The things that you have mentioned, I will be more wary of the actions of my team as well as mine. I bow my head once again and apologize for the situation.

The rapper continued stating that he was disappointed because his side of the story was disregarded and the music director had written the post as if he knew of San E personally.

San E also denied the rumors of the festival staff members being cautious around the rapper, locking himself in the room because he didn't want to perform, putting on an annoyed expression when he was stopped from bringing beer on stage, saying that it is okay to be late to an event in a very rural area, and finally the rumors of the rapper treating smaller events as a joke. He pleaded that the rumors were groundless because he does not believe he is scary enough for other people to act cautiously around him, and takes all performances, big or small, seriously.

However, because of this incident, San E revealed that he was able to look back at all the other times that his actions might have been seen as arrogant.

He continued, "...If there was something to apologize, I wanted to apologize and talk through the miscommunication and end it with a smile so I was just waiting quietly.... If everything that was written was true, then I would have asked the agency to officially apologize. If I was late and if I knew better, it is something to apologize for. Because it's something that I had done wrong."

The rapper revealed that he had confirmed with his agency multiple times if what he believed were true and if there were anything that they were lying about. San E then added that he genuinely wants to communicate personally with the person who had written the post criticizing him and his manager to apologize if there were things that he had done wrong and would take responsibility for everything.
San E addressed the music director yet again and stated, "I know when you bravely wrote the post, rather than to make me into a bad person, you had a bigger meaning to it. I was also awaken by it.... If we can talk personally about it and hash out the miscommunication, then I think it would also be a good opportunity for both of us."

Meanwhile, the writer of the first post regarding Brand New Music, San E, and his manager's behavior, recently wrote another post with more details of the situation, validating the statements that he had made.

SM Entertainment to debut numerous solo idol artists in 2015?

Could SM Entertainment be continuing their string of solo artist debuts in the upcoming year? Reportedly, the agency will be debuting an existing idol with exceptional talent as a solo artist in January of 2015.

SM Entertainment has remained ambiguous about who this artist is. Now, there is a report from media outlet OSEN suggesting the agency is preparing numerous solo projects to debut in 2015, heightening the anticipation and suspense.

Not too long ago, SM Entertainment revealed that f(x)'s Amber is in talks for her solo debut and album possibly in February, garnering much interest as f(x) has been on hiatus for quite some time now.

Just this year alone, SHINee's Taemin, Super Junior-M's Zhoumi, and Super Junior's Kyuhyun had their solo debuts, performing on stage alone for the first time. And for the most part, the three idol boys proved to the public that there is much more to them than their respective groups.

SM Entertainment has always been known as a group-centered agency, focusing on multiple members to appeal to the masses, but it seems as though SM Entertainment is planning on spicing up their lineup for the new year in a different way!

Who do you think is the next one to be debuting as solo artist within SM Entertainment?

Fans wonder if Jessica's response to a question on her Weibo is aimed towards Girls' Generation

Jessica held a Q&A on her Weibo on the 1st, updating fans on what she's been up to and answering some burning questions fans had for her. One particular response caught eyes as fans wondered if she could be referring to her situation with Girls' Generation

During the Q&A, one fan asked her what her motto in life is, and Jessica responded, "Honesty will always get you farther in life than lies ever could... The truth always comes out in the end."

If you remember, her rumored boyfriend Tyler Kwon previously showed support for Jessica on Weibo with the post, "The truth about what really happened will be known." Due to the similarities between Tyler's previous post and Jessica's recent response about her motto in life, fans raised questions about whether her latest words were aimed towards her former group.

Daehyun's former vocal trainer shares his thoughts on B.A.P's lawsuit

Daehyun's former vocal trainer HAK Ssem gave his two cents on B.A.P's lawsuit against TS Entertainment.

He tweeted in support of B.A.P on the 27th, "I am tweeting in a really long time. Although this is coming from a third-party perspective, I think that what the 6 members probably need most right now is the fans' strength. They must have gone through a really tough time and I hope that you stick with them until the end. Gain strength!"

He later tweeted on the 29th"All of this content is what I certainly heard from keeping in touch with the members and their parents. I was also patient up until now and because I couldn't just sit back and watch, I am posting this. To the fans who care about BAP like me, please trust and support them until the end."

He then shared more details on the situation from his perspective through screenshots of texts which read:

"First off, Dispatch organized the situation the most realistically [among reports] and throughout their promotions, I didn't say a word to not cause damage to the team, but now I have to speak up. [B.A.P] didn't even request a financial statement last year, but only asked that the details of the financial statement be shown to them, but even then, it was not properly shown to them. They only handed out the sum table and told them to only read it at that place and time so how can the parents look at that and accept it? They saw that the financial statement came out in the red without any proper explanation, so of course from the parents' perspective, it is a situation which cannot be understood.

[B.A.P] received an official break for the first time this year. Before that, all they did was get1 or 2 days about 2 times when they were let out of the agency by the head of department and manager. What is really a shame about that official break itself is that when it was all about to fall apart with a clash with the parents this year, the agency stopped taking proper care of [B.A.P] to the point that one can only think that [the agency] was trying to get them to slip up so that it would be advantageous to them if a lawsuit were to occur and waiting for them to get involved in a mishap that would be a violation of the kids' contract by canceling their schedules and quickly grabbing [schedules] again... The same people who kept a close eye on them even when they were going to the convenience store in front of the agency headquarters sure have gotten nicer [sarcasm].

Even if they contact [others] through KakaoTalk or FaceTime on their iPads, just in case they might get caught during an inspection [of their devices], they would always delete their entries. They are kids who've memorized their friends, teachers, and parents' numbers.

[The agency] didn't allow them to meet up with their parents at first, but later when they were in a meeting with the CEO, the CEO cursed out and yelled. But isn't it only natural that the parents, who trusted the CEO and put their kids under his care, would be worried if the CEO is acting like that to their kids who they can't see often?

For 3 years, [the agency] took away their cellphones to sever ties with the outside world. Even when they came to their hometowns for a fan meeting, they weren't allowed to see their parents for more than 10 minutes even when it was obvious that they didn't have any other schedules. But still, they wouldn't allow them to see their parents who came from far away. And without not even one official break, they lived under the manager's control.

[The agency] pressured the kid, who went to a hospital to receive treatment due to physical and mental exhaustion, to carry out his schedule. [Daehyun] told me and his parents that the manager would coerce him, saying that if he runs away to his parents, they'll file a damage suit. I read that the parents covered the hospital fees in an article. Not only did the parents cover the hospital fees, but since they don't have an income, all of the expenses involving their personal things from their trainee period up until now were covered by the parents' [credit] cards. Even when the parents said let's talk to the agency multiple times, the members said to trust [the agency] and that they only need to work hard in doing music and stopped their parents, never complaining once and consistently carrying out their activities."

He also asked that his post may be spread by fans to bring awareness to this issue, tweeting, "I don't care if this post that I wrote gets moved to somewhere else. I actually wish that this spreads so that many people may know. I am determined to fight for and alongside Daehyun," "I can't get in contact with the members currently, but I showed this to their parents first and posted it after receiving their permission," and "Also, I did not post this lightheartedly."

Soul Shop Entertainment responds to Megan Lee's claims regarding lawsuit

Soul Shop Entertainment responded to Megan Lee's claim that Kim Tae Woo's wife Kim Ae Ri and mother-in-law Ms. Kim's tyrannical actions and verbal abuse led to the filing of the lawsuit.

"This is Soul Shop Entertainment.

We find it very unfortunate that Megan Lee's side released unverified claims involving their personal feelings through media outlets, digressing from the essence of the ongoing lawsuit. None of this is true, and Soul Shop Entertainment did our best to give our endless support to all of Megan Lee's activities during the past 6 months since her debut as a singer (May 15, 2014). Even up to earlier this month, we completed a meeting concerning Megan Lee's future activities and recommended her for the drama 'Pinocchio' O.S.T in late November.

After the completion of her musical starting from December to late January, [Megan Lee] was set to release her second single album in March. Megan Lee and her mother were fully aware of these plans. Despite that, we can only see this as Megan Lee's side intentionally trying to nullify her contract to take hold of opportunities coming from the States. We hope that there may be no more personal attacks to each other. From now on, we will present our case through the court of law accordingly."

Rumors regarding Suzy's enrollment into a university proven to be false

The rumors regarding Suzy being given special admissions into a university were proven to be false.

JYP Entertainment addressed the rumors on November 20 saying that Suzy is currently busy filming for a movie so her circumstance prevents her from enrolling into a college. They revealed, "The rumors that were spreading via internet regarding Suzy's special admission into a university is baseless. Currently, she is focused on filming for the movie 'Dorihwaga' so she is in no condition to enroll into a university."

According to the rumors, Suzy was accepted into a university in Seoul after receiving special admissions but her enrollment was cancelled. However, the university that was named in the rumors clarified, "The fact that Suzy had applied (to the university) is false. It's the first time we've heard of the news. At this university, there are no policies on giving special admissions to celebrities.

JYP Entertainment also added that Suzy will not be enrolling into a university this year but whatever happens in the future is up to the idol herself.
