Bumkey's (Kwon Ki Beom) third trial was held on January 5 as it was previously reported that the singer is currently under investigation for suspicion of aiding illegal drug dealing and usage.
Witness Ms. Kim was identified as one of the acquaintances to have purchased ecstasy and methamphetamine from Bumkey and took the drug with the singer at the time of the occurrence.
The prosecutor first asked Ms. Kim if she and Bumkey, along with several other acquaintances, had used ecstasy and methamphetamine on September, 2011 and September, 2012. Initially, Ms. Kim answered, "Yes." However, when questions detailing the situation were continuously asked throughout the trial, Ms. Kim answered, "I've used them in the past, but I didn't see Bumkey do it."
When the prosecutor asked again in confirmation, "You didn't see Bumkey take [ecstasy and methamphetamine], but because of the circumstances, you think he did?" Ms. Kim answered, "Yes."
To the follow-up question about why the testimony had changed since the investigation, Ms. Kim answered, "During the investigation, I was asked, 'If you guys were together [at the time], then you must have done it together,' so I answered that I think he did use it. I didn't see him do it myself, so I'm not sure. I thought he did it at the time, but I didn't see him do it."
When the trial ended, Bumkey's lawyer commented that they will be checking the singer's schedule once they have identified the specific time of occurrence. They said, "Witnesses that have attended were not able to pinpoint the exact time of the occurrence. They imprisoned Bumkey with witness testimonies that lack credibility. There is no evidence. Once they have pointed out a specific time, we can then check the schedule and provide a clear alibi."
Bumkey's fourth trial is to call Bumkey's manager as witness along with Mr. Choi, the ex-boyfriend of Ms. Kim and an acquaintance of Bumkey.
