According to his label, Lee Seung Chul had flown to the US for performances at the UN and at Harvard. However, after he performed at Harvard, he was told of the news of his mother's passing and immediately booked a flight back to Korea.
He'd spoken about his mother before, saying, "My mother was a teacher. She used all of her wages to get music equipment for me so I could dream of being a singer." His label said, "The family of the deceased is currently talking about the funeral ceremonies."
